WHO WE ARE
Slap Stuff Together is simply two people who love making things and sharing their crafts with friends. In 2019 we are aspiring to teach more people how to dive into new hobbies and to not be afraid to just slap stuff together. Our goal is to show that you don't have to be an expert to enjoy pottery or photography or woodworking, to learn a new skill you just have to be willing to try. Fearlessness is the name of the game. Our name really reveals our approach to things, we never claim to be experts at anything we are doing and we always want people to know that often times we're learning right along side of them. Come along for the fun and you can stay for the cookies.
HEIDI JACOBSPotter, Photographer, Singer, Songwriter - self proclaimed BAMF. I studied sculpture at Clarion University of Pennsylvania graduating in 2004 with a bachelors of art. I used my degree to work for several different graphics companies over the years and am still enjoying a career in Packaging Graphics. In the meantime I partner with Ben on creating our own small business and run a home studio. |
BEN JACOBSSculptor, Woodworker, General Maker - I don't like titles. I studied at the Art Institute of Pittsburgh focusing on animation. There wasn't much work for an animator in Pittsburgh so I focused on other works while doing commissions for people. I would sculpt small memorial busts for people. Currently, my favorite medium to work with is wood. |
2020
This year we have so many goals in mind. Heidi has been continuing to grow the pottery side of the business and has been invited to the Show and Sell for the mini handmade arcade this year. Ben took his carpentry exam to enter into millwork and has also been awarded some work with our local parks making signage! It's going to be a great year.
